Zuzana Rzounková

Highly appreciated solo French horn player of the reputable Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK, Zuzana Rzounková, belongs to the  top class orchestral musicians. Therefore she is regularly invited to cooperate with many orchestras at home and abroad. Zuzana is often performing with the Luxembourg Orchester European Soloists, regularly performing on stages of famous festivals and her performances are highly valuated by the audience and the critics as well. During her career she was performing in all Europe, China, Japan, South Korea and the USA and so on.

With the same intensity Zuzana is focused on solo and chamber playing.  Her active music work includes also teaching, as a pedagogue at the Janáček Academy of Music in Brno, she is highly involved in the education of the new generation of Czech French horn players. Many of her graduates have been playing in the best Czech orchestras. Very often she is asked to participate in master-classes or to be a jury member of competitions. She is an artistic leader of Summer Horn Courses in Broumov, Czech republic. Zuzana Rzounková studied at the Conservatory of Košice and after that at Janáček Academy of Music in Brno with Prof. Jindřich Petráš. During her studies she won many prizes, e.g. the first prize of the International French horn Competition in London (2004) and in the Moravian Autumn Competition the year after. In 2010 she got the PhD degree at the Janáček Academy of Music in Brno.

Dariusz Mikulski (Poland)

Orchestra and Opera Conductor, Music Director and Horn-Soloist Dariusz Mikulski studied at the Academy of Music in Łódz, in1994 he continued his studies in Germany with Prof. Radovan Vlatkovic at the Academy of Music in Stuttgart and at the ‚Mozarteum‘ in Salzburg. Additionally, he took conducting courses with Prof. Tomas Ungar and graduated successfully from all institutions. During his university studies he won important competitions on a national basis and also some trophies from international competitions (the Prague Spring, Peter-Damm-Hornwettbewerb, the International Bugler competition in Toulon or the International Intrumental competition Marktneunkirchen). As a solo hornplayer he works regularly with European orchestras, as a conductor he appears often in Poland, Germany and Thailand. Since 2000, Dariusz Mikulski is known as the founder and leader of the Symphonic Orchestra of the Great Philharmonics Poland of young, inexperienced musicians from all over the world. He is a tutor at the Łódz Academy of Music and is the lecturer of many international courses of conservatories in Danzig, Lodz, Wroclaw, and Poznan, moreover, he leads a number of different summer courses in Duszniki Zdroj, Olszyn and Warsaw. He is leading concert- and artist agency CONCORNO Cultural Management.

Jan Vobořil

Jan Vobořil currently holds the position of Principal /Solo Horn in the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and Solistes Europeéns Luxembourg. He is also the leader of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra Horn Section. Jan held the position of Principal /Solo Horn in the PKF-Prague Philharmonia and Brno Philharmonic Orchestra. As a soloist, Jan has performed both at home and abroad (Europe, Japan, USA) under the batton of the best conductors. Jan as a soloist has also recorded for Czech Radio and Television, German ARD Television, Radio Luxembourg and numerous international record labels including Supraphon, Octavia Records (Japan) and the British Classicprint label. Jan is a member of the Prague Wind Quintet, Czech Philharmonic Horn Quartet /Octet and the Czech Horn Quartet (over twenty solo performances of Schumann Konzertstück for Four Horns in Europe).

Since 2011 Jan has become a guest performer as Principal Horn with the NDR Symphony Orchestra Hamburg and Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra. From 2016 is regulary invited for a special projects with Riccardo Muti to Korea with Gyeonggi Philharmonic Orchestra. In the same year 2016 he was a Principal horn with Seiji Ozawa in Saito Kinen Orchestra at the Seiji Ozawa Festival in Japan. Jan is also from 2014 a regular guest at Kuhmo International Chamber Music Festival in Finnland. Jan Vobořil is a graduate of the Brno Conservatoire and the Academy of Performing Arts Prague. He is a First Prize winner of many competitions.

 

Raimund Zell​ (Germany)

Raimund Zell (1977 in South-Germany) studied with Michael Höltzel in Detmold and with Christian Dallmann in Berlin. He was a member of „German Youth Orchestra“ and „European Union Youth Orchestra“. After playing in „Radiosinfonieorchester Stuttgart“, „Komische Oper Berlin“ and „Staatskapelle Dresden“ he was a member for about ten years in „Gewandhausorchester Leipzig“. Beside that he is playing since about 17 years in „Mahler-Chamber-Orchestra“ and is playing regularily with the big concert- and operaorchestras in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

He is price winner of several international competitions as a soloist and hamber-musician and -beside his orchestra playing- is working international as a teacher, chamber musician and soloist. He teached for about six years at „Universität der Künste Berlin“ in the hornclass of Christian Dallmann, in 2011/2012 he had a professorship for horn and chambermusic at „Hochschule der Künste Bern“, was professor for horn from 2012-2015 at „Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Graz“ and since 2012 he is professor for horn at „Anton-Bruckner-Universität“ in Linz/Austria. He is a professional mental-coach and is living in Vienna.

Lenka Němcová

Born in Pardubice, Lenka Němcová completed her studies with Karel Křenek and at the Conservatory Pardubice with Otakar Tvrdý. She held eight years the position of first horn in the Hradec Králové Philharmonic Orchestra, since 1993 she has been teaching in Police nad Metují in Music Grammar School, where besides the horn she is teaching also other brass instruments. Since 2011 she is active as a teacher also in Broumov music school. Besides her pedagogical activities is Lenka focusing on chamber music in brass quintet Scholasticus.

Jindřich Petráš

Jindřich Petráš studied French horn at the Brno Conservatoire, and the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno under Professor František Šolc. During his studies, he became a member and later Principal Horn of the Brno State Philharmonic Orchestra. In 1985 he took up the post of Principal Horn in the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra. A laureate winner of competitions in Munich, Markneukirchen, Geneva and Prague, as a soloist he regularly performs both at the orchestral concerts with many leading orchestras, and at recitals with piano. He is also a member of the Prague Horn Trio. Since 1996 Mr. Petráš has been teaching horn playing at Brno Conservatoire and at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts, being promoted to professorship in 2007; currently he is Dean of Music Faculty. Since 1991 he has been the co-organiser of the international hornplaying masterclass "Hornclass". Currently he is Chairman of Hornforum - the Czech Horn Association, named after Jan Václav Stich - Punto, and also Chair of the Association for International Interpretative Competition for Wind Instruments, held biennially in Brno.He is regularly invited to become a jury member in national and international competitions, both in solo and chamber playing.
