About courses

In the year 2020, The Summer Horn Courses will be held in National Monument of the Broumov Monastery for the sixth time, as an accompanying program of the Za poklady Broumovska Music Festival. During the time, the courses gained their place in the summer cultural program of the monastery, and the organizers' efforts is to further extend the courses of international participation. This has been successful since the second year of teaching (Kerry Turner - member of the American Horn Quartet, Saar Berger - member of Ensemble Modern, finnish horn player Esa Tapani, Ricardo Matosinhos, portugal horn player and composer), and from the year 2018 also by student participation (in 2018 and 2019 the courses welcomed participants from Japan, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovak republic, Russia, Switzerland, Portugal, Germany and Czech Republic).

The courses are intended for pupils of the elementary school, conservatory students and academics, as well as for the public, without any age limit.

During the courses, the organizer offers participants a full service from transport, accommodation (in the renovated Broumov Monastery in the monastic cells), catering services and leisure time spent in a group with instructors - barbecue, open air concert, monastery visiting etc. After the reconstruction of the monastery there are concert halls with different capacity from thirty listeners up and  the multifunctional hall Dřevník, which is located in the monastery garden and is for 300 listeners. Individual lessons and chamber lessons are held in the monastery and concert hall in parallel.

The concerts will take place in the monastery, in Dřevník, in churches in Broumov and open air - link HERE. In recent years, open air concerts in the Adrspach Rocks have been a great success. Also concerts in the „Jízdárna Hejtmánkovice" (Riding horse house Hejtmánkovice) were acclaimed by public - see youtube HERE. The final top concert of the courses is the concert of lecturers of courses within the festival Za Poklady Broumovska.

Category without age limit, suitable for pupils of Primary Music Schools, students of Conservatories and Music Universities and also open public. For small children we are „parents friendly“, we are looking forward to make a special conditions for all accompanying parents.“

Application:

Please fill in carefully. Applications and deposit of 500 CZK must be sent and paid in advance electronically till 30th June 2020 to the account IBAN: CZ11 0800 0000 0034 9595 3359 SWIFT (BIC): GIBACZPX. Use the participant's birth number as a variable symbol (payment reference number). The additional payment can be paid after arrival or on the same account until July 15, 2020.

Application

The Course fee:

Full board – 300 Euros; breakfast, lunch, dinner (arrival: August/2nd/2020; departure: August/8th/2020)
Half board – 250 Euros; breakfast, dinner (arrival: August/2nd/2020; departure: August/8th/2020)
The fee without accommodation and food – 110 Euros

Accommodation:

Accomodation for participants will be arranged in the newly refurbished rooms in the Broumov monastery - HERE.
